students or anyone else a safe, anonymous way to report information
they have about a crime, potentially dangerous
situation, or other concerns.
QUESTION: How does SAFE TO TELL™ work?
ANSWER: It's easy. Anyone who has information about
a crime, potentially dangerous situation, or other concern can call
the toll free, state wide hot line number at 1-877-542-7233 . A trained call taker will answer the phone and write
down the caller's information. No one will make the caller give
his or her name, and we
don't have caller I.D.
QUESTION: How do I make a call?
ANSWER: To call SAFE TO TELL™,
dial 1-877-542-7233 from any phone, anywhere in
the United States. That means you can call from your home, a friend
or relative's home, a pay phone, school phone, cell phone…any phone
for FREE. Once you've told the call taker your about your concern,
you'll be given any further instructions that
you may need.

How do I remain anonymous?
ANSWER: Safe2tell will assign you a code number.
We will track your tip by using your code number (not your name).
If we list your code number on our website,
it means that we want you to call back so we can ask more questions.
